Glassblowing 101

Have you ever wondered how glass objects are made?
This is your chance to create your own beautiful piece art out of glass. Our instructors will introduce you to the exciting and age-old craft of hot glass forming.
By the time your class is completed, you will have made your very own piece of glass to enjoy.
First we will help you to understand the exciting possibilities of glass art and make your choice of colours and deign. Then you will learn about the properties of glass while making a “practice piece". For the main event you will move on to adding colour to the mix and forming your own Sculpture, paperweight, or fanciful flower.
During the 2 hr class for two you will each have 30-45 minutes of one-on-one instruction. All materials are included. All equipment is disinfected after every client. We aim to uphold a safe and sanitary environment
Your 2 works of art need to cool for 1 - 2 days after the class is done. You can either pick up your creation at least 2 days later, or you can have the items mailed to you for the price of shipping to your address.
Instruction is available in English, French, and by arrangement, in Japanese. If you get hungry, there's a restaurant on the main floor and two more options a short walk away. Other things to note:If you have physical limitations or don't like heat, we are happy to assist and take care of any parts of the process you don't like. We want you to feel comfortable and express your inner creativity.
Stained Glass 101

Experience the age old art of Stained Glass. You will enter an atmosphere of creative glass work in our open artists studio. In 3 hours your mentor will guide you in the design and building your own Tea Lantern or Sun Catcher.
Making a Tea lantern involves cutting glass, foiling and soldering your personal design to create a unique glass panel. The completed panel is inserted into a black or white lantern and Voila! Let your light shine!
Using glass you cut from stock or using pre-cut sparkly bevels, you will apply copper foil edging and then solder the sections together to form a beautiful snowflake sun catcher. Display it in a window with the sunlight filtering through, or hang it on your tree at Christmas!
In this intimate class of 4 and we provide all tools and materials. We are an open studio so feel free to come early or stay late to watch other artists creating. No experience necessary!
Other things to note: Bring your camera in order take pictures of different steps of your work and since it's manual work,.wear casual clothes (closed toe shoes), Instruction is available in English & French ( please contact us if you would like the course in french). Please bring your own mask. We sanitize the workspace before each class

Create Unique Fired Glass Cheese Plates Intrigued by the elusive beauty of glass? Want to create your own glass cheese plate?
In this 2 hour experience a knowledgeable experience the teacher will guide you through the beautiful art of glass fusion.
To begin you will learn about the unique properties of glass and how to use them to your creative advantage.
You will then design your piece using all you've learned and create your own beautiful glass cheese plate.
In this intimate class of 4 we provide all tools and materials needed for the project.
After the class we fuse (melt) the pieces in our kiln and let them cool slowly. Your pieces will be ready to take home one week after your class. Pieces can be picked up Wednesday-Sunday 10am-5pm or shipped at additional cost.

Please wear casual clothes (closed toe shoes required)
